In the episode, Ball discusses the power and possibility of mathematics teaching to disrupt patterns of racism and oppression. She “pushes back on the notion that math is culturally neutral. In fact, she believes that changing the way we teach math could help break patterns of inequality and injustice that are perpetuated in our classrooms.”
